Privacy Policy
This policy covers Mac’s Sports Playground, the mobile application for iOS and Android published by Macletics, a division of Mind of Mart, and the services it connects to. It explains what the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to get it deleted.
On this page: Age requirement · What we collect · What we don’t collect · How we use it · Who we share with · AI processing · Advertising · Retention & deletion · Security · Your rights · Contact
1. Age requirement
Mac’s Sports Playground is intended for adults. Some features are restricted to users who are 21 or older, and we ask for your date of birth in order to apply that restriction. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — email address, username, and password. Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito and are never visible to us in readable form.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple — your email address and, where you allow it, your first and last name. We never receive your Google or Apple password. If you use Apple’s Hide My Email, we receive only the relay address Apple generates.
- Profile details — first and last name, phone number, date of birth, and the city, state, country and postal code you choose to enter, along with your favourite sports and teams.
- Images you choose to upload — if you use the slip-scanning feature, the photo you select or capture is uploaded so its text can be read automatically. See AI processing.
- Messages you send to the in-app assistant.
- Preferences — marketing opt-in and your acceptance of our terms.
Information created by using the app
- Predictions, picks and selections you record, and the results they are scored against.
- Your virtual coin balance, items you own, and in-app purchase history.
- Analyses you run and settings you save.
Information collected automatically
- Device and diagnostic data — device model, operating system version, app version, and crash reports.
- IP address, used for delivering and securing the service.
- Advertising identifier, used to serve ads. See Advertising.
3. What we don’t collect
- We do not collect your device’s location. The app requests no location permission. Any city, state or postal code we hold is what you typed into your profile.
- We do not record audio. The app can read text aloud, but it does not capture microphone input.
- We do not collect your contacts, calendar, call logs or SMS.
- We do not sell your personal information.
4. How we use your information
- To create and operate your account and keep you signed in.
- To provide the features you use, and to score predictions against published results.
- To apply age restrictions where they are required.
- To process purchases and maintain your virtual coin balance.
- To send account email — verification codes, password resets, and security notices.
- To diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
- To send marketing email only if you have opted in. You can opt out at any time.
5. Who we share information with
We share information with the service providers below, only to the extent each needs it to do its job. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
| Provider | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services | All account and app data | Hosting, database, storage, authentication and email delivery |
| Google (Gemini) | Messages you send the assistant; images you upload for scanning | Generating replies and reading text from images |
| Google AdMob | Advertising identifier, device and ad-interaction data | Serving and measuring ads |
| Sentry | Crash and error diagnostics | Finding and fixing bugs |
| Apple & Google Play | Purchase records | Processing in-app purchases and subscriptions |
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the service. If the business is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer with it, and this policy will continue to apply until replaced.
6. AI processing
Two features send your content to Google’s Gemini models for processing:
- The in-app assistant — your messages are sent so a reply can be generated.
- Slip scanning — an image you upload is sent so the text on it can be read and turned into structured entries.
Both are optional: they only run when you use them. Please avoid sending information you would not want processed by a third party. Uploaded images are stored in our systems so the result can be shown to you again, and are deleted when you delete the item or your account.
7. Advertising
The app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob, which uses your device’s advertising identifier. You can limit this at any time in your device settings:
- iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Android — Settings → Google → Ads, where you can delete or reset your advertising ID.
Some features can be unlocked by choosing to watch a rewarded ad. Watching one is always optional. Google’s handling of ad data is governed by its own privacy policy.
8. How long we keep information, and how to delete it
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Diagnostic and crash data is kept for a limited period and then discarded.
Deleting your account
You can request deletion at any time from within the app, or by emailing us at the address in Contact from the address on your account. Full instructions are at macletics.com/delete-account.html, which you can use without installing the app.
Deletion is carried out 30 days after you request it. During that window your account keeps working and you can cancel by signing in; after it, we delete your profile, your saved content and your uploaded images. Some records are retained where the law requires it — purchase records kept for tax and accounting — and those are stripped of anything identifying you.
9. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled systems on Amazon Web Services. Authentication is handled by Amazon Cognito, and we support two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain processing. Residents of California may request details of the categories of information collected and disclosed, and may opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information — though, as stated above, we do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
